ChristianaCare has an opening for a Full time, 80 hours, (Days) Nursing Professional Development Specialist that defines excellence within their nursing practice.
The role of the Nursing Professional Development Specialist (NPDS) is one of educator, advocate, leader, communicator, coach, consult, promoter; participant in research, evidence-based practice and quality improvement programs, and project manager.
The (NPDS) is an essential member of leadership teams across the Newark campus to support and educate quickly and efficiently. The NPDS ensures caregivers are competent and comfortable with all aspects of their work and have the flexibility, knowledge, and creativity to reach staff who may normally not benefit from traditional means of education. Additionally, this role provides much needed relief in staffing during these unprecedented times.
The role of the NPDS in HVIS is both critical and invaluable. The NPDS inspires members to excel by providing educational services, networking, being an advocate and researching best practices to support the needs of all staff members including unlicensed assistive personnel.
Qualifications:
Must hold our values of Love & Excellence for all those that we serve.
BSN required, MS/MSN required or current enrollment in MS/MSN program with completion within three years.
Specialty certification required.
Prior Cath Lab, EP Lab and VIR experience preferred.
Interprofessional experience to include direct involvement in performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and the development and delivery of quality educational programming in a hospital-based system.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of research design: performance improvement processes
Ability to critique evidence through literature review process.
Ability to translate quality evidence into nursing practice.
Skilled in communication using a variety of methods.
Ability to utilize emotional intelligence in communication with others.
Knowledge of change management theory
Skilled in and practices effective communication techniques
Ability to exercise judgement, tact, and diplomacy.
Knowledge of Joint Commission, OSHA, Magnet, and other legal standards
Knowledge of the interprofessional practice and learning environments
Ability to facilitate, plan, organize and coordinate multidisciplinary team efforts.
