Assistant Professor of Practice, Marketing (Full-Time) - Fall 2024
Job Description
Marquette University invites applications for a full-time Marketing instructor beginning in Fall 2024 at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice. There is some flexibility on course assignments, though a preference will be given for applicants with an interest and ability to teach Market Research and/or Marketing Analytics. The College of Business Administration offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. Compensation is competitive. Apply by March 1, 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities
The standard teaching load is 4/4. This is a 9-month position, but there may be opportunities for summer teaching for overload compensation. The new faculty will be required to teach face-to face with the possibility of online teaching at the undergraduate and master’s level. Responsibilities include preparing a well-organized syllabus and teaching plan that clearly reflect the program objectives and expectations, conduct a well-prepared class session that effectively delivers the course content and engages students, administer meaningful and relevant assignments, and grade student’s work with an emphasis on student development. If research is desired, scholarly activities will include publication in journals valued by the Marketing Department, including scholarly and practitioner journals consistent with AACSB “scholarly practitioner” classification. The position will also have some service responsibilities as determined by the Department Chair.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Terminal degree: Ph.D. or DBA is desired. Candidates should show evidence of excellence in teaching.
