Job Description: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Active Generations
Active Generations’ Mission Statement: To promote positive aging for adults and to enhance the quality of life for all through programs, services, and education.
Position Overview: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Active Generations plays a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership, direction, and management to ensure the successful execution of the organization's mission and goals. The CEO is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Active Generation's operations, including financial management, program development, fundraising, community engagement, and staff leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership:
o Develop and communicate a compelling vision and strategic plan aligned with the organization's mission.
o Provide strategic guidance to the board of directors and collaborate with them to ensure effective governance.
2. Financial Management:
o Oversee the development and implementation of the organization's budget.
o Ensure financial sustainability through effective fundraising, grant management, and donor relations.
o Monitor financial performance and make recommendations for improvement.
3. Program Development and Implementation:
o Lead the development and implementation of innovative programs and initiatives that align with the organization's mission.
o Evaluate program effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.
4. Fundraising and Development:
o Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major gifts, grants, and special events.
o Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
5. Community Engagement:
o Serve as the organization's representative and spokesperson, fostering positive relationships with the community, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
o Collaborate with community leaders to enhance the organization's impact and visibility.
6. Board Relations:
o Work closely with the board of directors, providing regular updates, reports, and recommendations.
o Collaborate with the board to recruit and engage board members effectively.
7. Staff Leadership and Development:
o Recruit, hire, and retain a high-performing team.
o Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for staff members.
8. Compliance and Risk Management:
o Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
o Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the organization's operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, business administration, public administration) is preferred.
- Proven leadership experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Strong understanding of non-profit governance, finance, and fundraising.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Commitment to the organization's mission and values.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
