Job Summary:
The Electro-Mechanical Assembler is responsible for Catheter and kit product assembly operations. You can expect to work aboard a closely knit team in which you can expect to incur overtime, but you’ll feel great about helping to bring a superior product to market that helps Natus patients’ lives worldwide.
In this job, you will:
- Measure, cut, and prepare optical fibers/tubing
- Perform catheter optical assembly operations
- Perform Catheter body bonding, trimming and glueing operations
- Conduct transducer subassembly build; solder dipping, hot solder, cleaning & test
- Perform Catheter stability and characterization testing & code board assembly
- Conduct component subassembly build
- Handle boxing, labeling and packaging of various medical device products (“kitting”)
- Assist with catheter testing, inspection & packaging operations, including but not limited to:
- Semi-automated final catheter test equipment operation
- Microscopic catheter tip inspection
- Catheter packaging operations
- Follow Company policies and procedures compliance; including detailed record keeping
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of work experience and education
- Availability to work overtime and weekends when needed
- Individual must be punctual and have reliable attendance
- Individual must be cooperative and willing to work in a team environment
- Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be willing and able to learn different jobs in the manufacturing environment (cross training)
- Must be able to speak and read English with excellent understanding
- Ability to use:
- Microscopes
- Fiber optic polishing equipment
- Balance scales, printers, timers, water baths, ovens/vacuum chambers, freezers and stir/heat plates
- Packaging & Sealing equipment
- Use of urethane and epoxy adhesives and associated glue delivery systems/hand tools
- Compressed gases, including nitrogen and helium
- Automatic & Semi-automatic electronic measuring/analysis equipment
- Soldering equipment
- Small hand tools; including tweezers, clamps, cutting tools, solder guns, etc.
- Appropriate PPE/clothing for medical device manufacturing clean room environment
Physical Requirements:
While undertaking the essential duties and responsibilities of the position, the employee must repeatedly sit, walk, bend, stoop, stand, listen, write/type, sedentary grasping, near acuity and move throughout the facility. The employee must be able to periodically lift and/or move boxes/bins of weight up to 30lbs. The employee will also be required to follow special gowning requirements for that of a restricted/controlled working environment (also known as a clean room environment) while performing essential duties and responsibilities of this position.
