Job Description

We are looking for an Engineering Technician with a Secret clearance or higher to join our Naval Surface Warfare Center Team!

As an Engineering Technician you will:

  • Possess knowledge of maintenance techniques, training, tools and support equipment.

A week in the life of an Engineering Technician:

  • Using knowledge developed on other defense programs to provide maintenance and support activities.
  • Perform a combination of technical (hands-on) and systems analysis and methods.
  • Drive improvements of complex and unique techniques and procedures to analyze, troubleshoot, build up, maintain, and repair complex equipment.
  • Perform analysis duties to reduce machine down time, performing root cause analysis.
  • Identify engineering solutions for machine up time.
  • Develop and implement total production maintenance methods and procedures to improve customer overall equipment efficiency.
  • Using your working knowledge of maintenance environments in supporting equipment uptime.
  • Be part of a focused technical team working to ensure supported munitions systems are operationally ready for use, however, you will not be working with explosives.
  • Conduct test and evaluation activities of installed equipment or equipment candidates that are being considered for use by the Government.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
  • A High School diploma/GED, trade school training
  • Five (5) years of related experience including hands on maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance/material control and quality assurance
  • Experienced in working in an IPT type structure to include remote team dynamics

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary/hourly range for this position is $90,000-$110,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
