ABOUT THIS POSITION

We are seeking a dynamic Public Grants & Contracts Manager to join our team, dedicated to empowering young individuals aged 17-24 through comprehensive workforce development programs. As a Grants & Contracts Manager, you will play a crucial role in preparing our students for successful entry into the workforce by establishing and managing public funding opportunities to fund YBB programming.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop financial processes, internal controls, and procedures in partnership with Program, Finance, and Development departments to ensure and enhance fiscal compliance and efficiency of government contracts & grants.
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant federal, state, and city contract regulation, as well as with YBB policies and procedures.
  • Manage all contractual obligations relating to financial functions, including completing and submitting required financial reports, monthly and quarterly billings, and other financial deliverables.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports that track and analyze income generation, billing, collections, along with recommendations for process improvement. Analyze the financial impact of new and existing initiatives and programs and support the development of plans to create financial sustainability.
  • Apply compliance standards required for federal, state, and local government contracts.
  • Partner with Programs and Development departments to provide support to maximize funding requests in new grant proposals.
  • Conduct internal training regarding processes and procedures as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required or equivalent work experience. Demonstrated knowledge of financial analysis in non-profit setting with fund accounting and public and private grant accounting, GAAP and strong analytical skills.
  • Minimum of four (4) years relevant experience (preferably with non-profits) in a finance or accounting environment that requires compliance with federal regulations.
  • Prior experience with pre- and post-award federal grants and contracts procedures, experience with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR Part 200) required and experience with Commonwealth of Massachusetts or City of Boston contracting preferred.
  • Experience working with financial reporting in the management of grants and with budget development and review.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and implement fiscal elements of contract terms and conditions and operationalize compliance systems.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and high proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to make recommendations and decisions.
  • High degree of competence, initiative, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and assignments under time constraints and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work in a diverse setting with people of all backgrounds, cultures, and orientations.
