Job Description
Northeast Lakeview College (NLC) in the Alamo Colleges District seeks confidential applications
and nominations for the position of Vice President for College Services. This is an exciting
opportunity for a skilled, agile, and transparent leader with strong budget experience and a
coaching leadership style to build and strengthen a recently restructured team to provide exemplary
services and supports to the newest campus in the district. Reporting to the College President and,
directly or through collaboration with the district, the VP for College Services will oversee
budgeting, information technology, public safety, risk management, employee services, facilities,
and acquisitions. This role is critical in keeping the college open, safe, and fully operational to
effectively meet the needs of students, employees, and the community.
Northeast Lakeview College was officially established in January 2007 as the newest of the five
Alamo Colleges. In Fall 2008, five buildings at the new campus opened and in Fall 2009, all nine
buildings became fully operational. Currently, the campus has been expanding its footprint and
the newest addition to the NLC campus will be a new Veterans Center, which is in the design and

NLC currently offers 400,000 sq. ft. of academic space and sits on 267 acres in northeast Bexar
County. Sitting just outside San Antonio, TX, the college straddles two cities – Universal City
and Live Oak - in one of the fastest-growing areas in the state. Campus grounds and adjacent
properties include natural green spaces, a beautiful lake, and a 5-mile walking trail.
NLC offers associate degrees (A.A., A.S., A.A.T), associate of applied science programs, and
certificates. Additionally, NLC values community engagement through relationships built and
partnerships developed with the local community to enhance student success. Northeast
Lakeview College serves 8,265 students from northeast San Antonio and itssmallersurrounding
communities. NLC graduated its first student in 2009 and since then, continues to demonstrate
a steady increase in completion and graduation rates. Students completing Northeast Lakeview
College can transfer credits to a university and have the experience and knowledge to succeed
in the workplace.
Northeast Lakeview gained Hispanic Serving Institution designation (HSI) in 2021 and has
received numerous awards, including being recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to
Work in Community Colleges by NISOD numerous times and most recently in 2023!
Alamo Colleges District (ACD) is a nationally recognized community college district and the
recipient of the 2018 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest honor for
performance excellence. In 2020, ACD won the Leah Meyer Austin Award given by the
Achieving the Dream Network, recognizing the District’s holistic approach to reducing equity
gaps between student groups. ACD is one of the largest community college systems in the nation
and the fourth largest in Texas with a total Fall enrollment of over 68,000 students.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, budgeting, or finance. A
combination of experience and training with a different degree may be considered. Five years of
progressively responsible financial and management experience is required. Experience in higher
education, performance-based budgeting, and knowledge of the Baldridge initiatives along with
state and federal regulations affecting community colleges is preferred.
