Shenandoah Community Health Clinic (SCHC) is seeking a highly professional and experienced LPC or LCSW Behavioral Health Director to manage the clinic’s Behavioral Health program. Counseling services may be provided in our clinic in Woodstock, VA, and/or in the Shenandoah County Public Schools, so experience coordinating and collaborating with school staff and administrators is a plus.
SCHC is a non-profit agency providing Behavioral Health, Medical and Dental services to the local community and surrounding areas. The clinic has been serving the area for over 22 years.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Executive Director. Benefits available include Paid Time Off, 401K, Medical Insurance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
--Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and develop staff.
--Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of human resource management of staff.
--Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
--Ability to communicate with people of various backgrounds, including racial, socio-economic, educational, as well as individuals with disabilities.
--Ability to establish a spirit of cooperation and respect.
--Ability to demonstrate consistent professional and ethical conduct.
--Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with program personnel and leadership.
--Demonstrated knowledge or experience with behavioral health services in an outpatient medical setting, preferably in primary care, for a diverse patient population.
--Knowledge and ability to provide behavioral health services within the context of access outcomes, utilization management and fiscal parameters of a community health center setting.
--Demonstrated skills in developing and managing services for children, youth, adults, and families.
--Experience implementing new services.
--Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and use of basic math skills.
--Ability to appropriately document patient services in an electronic medical record in a timely manner.
--Ability to meet and comply with HIPAA/ Confidentiality policies and procedures.
--Ability to work resourcefully in absence of detailed instructions.
--Ability to remain calm and professional when faced with difficult situations and emergencies.
--Ability to demonstrate predictable, reliable and timely attendance.
--Ability and means to commute during the day to various locations.
Education and Experience
Licensed in Virginia to provide counseling (LPC or LCSW).
Minimum five years of experience in management in a health care setting.
Experience providing therapy in a multi-cultural and diverse environment.
Experience managing services across an organization with multiple sites is desirable.
HIPAA Requirements
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act protects the confidentiality of all patients. Staff members only have access to such information that they need to know to perform their job. Staff members in a behavioral health role have access to records within the electronic medical record and complete confidentiality is expected.
