Description

How might engineering academic institutions be better positioned for contemporary needs? How might you translate those ideas into real benefits for all involved? Join us at The Polytechnic School as a post-doctoral associate to help design, launch, and evaluate bold initiatives across the institution.

The Polytechnic School, with more than 7,000 students, 300 faculty and staff, and 40 degree programs in 10 tech-related disciplines, is ASU’s engineering locus for applied research, engaged learning, and industry partnerships. Positioned as an institutional laboratory, the School has a culture of community and caring, and is driven to find new ways for impactful higher education practices at large scales.

Polytechnic Campus, situated in a bucolic desert arboretum in Mesa, Arizona. The campus is home to about 10,000 of ASU’s 150,000 students and is rapidly evolving to support the future of polytechnic learning, research, and impact.

This position may be renewable annually, based on outcomes achieved, eligibility and the continued availability of funding.


 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ph.D. in Engineering Education, Engineering Management, Organizational Leadership, or related discipline by the time of appointment; Ph.D. must be obtained within the past four years
  • Meeting/workshop planning and facilitation
  • Entrepreneurial project management
  • Qualitative and quantitative data analyses

Desired:

  • Effective visual, oral, and written communication
  • Inclusive team leadership skills
  • Understanding organizational change theory and practice
  • Translating research to scalable practice
