The Senior Human Resources Generalist (Sr HRG) contributes to the mission of Plymouth Housing by acting as a trusted consultative partner to their assigned departments and managers, providing broad-based, professional human resources expertise. This position ensures a high level of customer satisfaction through timely follow-through, flexibility, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues and concerns. The Sr HRG serves as the primary point of contact for all HR-related issues for their assigned departments. The Sr HRG builds and maintains strong, effective relationships with managers to gain an understanding of each department’s unique operations, challenges, and needs. The HRG collaborates and works closely with the Human Resources Program Manager, Talent Acquisition, Leave and Accommodation Specialist, Human Resources Coordinator, and HRIS and Benefits Administrator.
Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With apartment buildings throughout King County, Plymouth is helping the most vulnerable members of our community leave homelessness behind forever. At Plymouth, we’re not simply trying to get people off the streets. We provide supportive services like case management and health care so that our residents can thrive long-term. As part of our strategic vision, we are building internal behavioral health services and transforming our systems to address rapid growth and the changing needs of residents.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING IN THIS ROLE AT PLYMOUTH HOUSING
- Provide comprehensive consultation to managers on employee performance issues, coaching, and progressive discipline processes.
- Collaborate with the Leave and Accommodations Specialist on employee relations situations involving potential leaves or accommodations.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze data to identify opportunities for enhancing employee engagement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned departments' managers and staff for HR matters.
- Build collaborative relationships with employees and managers to improve work relationships and increase retention.
- Assist in updating and implementing standard operating procedures to ensure clarity and consistency.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Minimum five years of experience in a client-facing HR role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector is preferred.
- Certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP is desired.
