The Department of Business at Westminster College is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Accounting beginning Fall 2024. The successful candidate must have an interest in teaching a wide variety of undergraduate accounting courses for the on-campus program. Occasionally, the teaching load may include online courses with asynchronous delivery. All areas of accounting will be considered. Prior professional experience in public accounting or industry is highly valued.

Requirements:

Essential Functions:

  • Collaboratively contribute to interdisciplinary curricular and scholarly efforts within the department as well as across the entire College
  • Work with students as academic advisor
  • Contribute to departmental program development
  • Participate in faculty governance and committee service
  • Provide information about the Accounting major to campus offices (the Registrar, Enrollment Services etc.),
  • Maintain regular office hours
  • Maintain an agenda for scholarly, professional, and/or creative activity
  • Participate in enrollment activities by meeting with prospective students, preparing recruitment materials, and other activities as requested

Job Requirements:

Education: An earned Doctorate in accounting or ABD with a firm defense date (preferred). Master’s degree in accounting (required). Earned Doctorate (or ABD) or Master’s degree in a related field with a CPA certification will be given serious consideration if combined with years of industry experience and prior college-level teaching.
