About Us
The Business Manager will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day financial management of the company, including budget forecasting, accounting, management of insurance plans, donations/annual giving, purchasing and general business finance functions.
Duties
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including but not limited to, invoicing of all enrollment and tuition fees, collection of enrollment fees and tuition, deposit of all receipts collected.
- Perform various journal entries, accounts reconciliations, and provides general ledger support.
- Manage the payroll process, preparing and submitting the semi-monthly payroll.
- File payroll reports as needed (including but not limited to CT UC-R2, Quarterly CT Report Information and Quarterly CT Labor Statistics).
- Manage the delivery of all financial documents between the Riverside and Glenville centers (such as; bills, invoices, rent checks, statements, equipment/materials orders, paychecks).
- Responsibility for ongoing facility management, including but not limited to, contacting vendors for maintenance issues, renewal of maintenance contracts, monitoring of playground daily inspections, and maintenance of security systems.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements to the Executive Director, Assistant Director, and the Board of Directors.
- Prepare and provide monthly reports to the Board of Directors, providing extensive information pertaining to the financial status of the school.
- Attend regular / monthly Board meetings, semi-annual Advisory Board meetings, Parent Orientations meetings and other admin / staff meetings as deemed necessary by the Executive Director.
- Participate actively with the administrative team through communication collaboration, and program planning.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Enrollment Coordinators to ensure a seamless enrollment system.
- Oversee service, maintenance, reports and inspections as related to the facility, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Manage overall benefits administration, working with other administrators to educate staff on school policies and procedures, benefit packages and tuition reimbursement.
- Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal wage laws and review all tax filing reports.
- Work with the Executive Director and Finance committee to prepare the annual budget and determine the tuitions.
- Work closely with the Treasurer of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Tuition Assistance Committee in a cooperative manner that is conducive to achieving the goal of Children?s Day School.
- Coordinate contracts and leases with the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Responsible for any other duties and tasks that may arise that are integral to maintaining the school?s operation.
- Respond to parent / guardian comments and concerns, demonstrating sensitivity, interest and respect while maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
- Undergraduate degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Non-profit accounting experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with parents / guardians, children and coworkers.
- Mindful and organized regarding timelines and deadlines for projects and/or documents that must be completed for the school, giving immediate notice to other?s that may be involved in the completion of such matters.
- Ability to organize people and processes while leading a group toward the company?s goal.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Report to work on time and maintain consistent attendance.
