At the Faculty of Mathematics, Institute of Algebra, the Chair of Algebra offers a position as
Research Associate / Postdoc (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
starting October 1, 2024. The position is limited for 2 years. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification. Balancing family and career is an important issue. The position is generally suitable for candidates seeking part-time employment. Tasks: You work in research and teaching at the Chair of Algebra and the Institute of Algebra. You conduct research on topics in the area of algebra and number theory. You are responsible for planning and implementing classes for mathematics degree programs and teaching export.
Requirements: You have a university degree and hold a PhD in the field of mathematics. You have very good prior knowledge of algebraic number theory, diophantine geometry, field arithmetic or model theory of fields. Teaching experience as well as knowledge of the German language are also desirable.
