The mission of the Excellence Community Schools is to prepare young people to compete for admission to and succeed in top public, private, and parochial high schools by cultivating their intellectual, artistic, social, and emotional and ethical development through the Bronx Charter School for Excellence (Bronx Excellence) and the Stamford Charter School for Excellence (Stamford Excellence). Job Overview
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for providing support to the
Senior Human Resources Manager, and the HR department as a whole. The HR Manager is the go-to person for various employee-related issues and is responsible for the overall human resources function and communication with employees for our network of schools in the Bronx, NY, and Stamford, CT. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for guiding management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating organization values. Contribute to the overall success and well-being of an organization by fostering a positive work culture, developing employee skills, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
· Employee Onboarding: Developing and implementing onboarding programs to help new employees acclimate to the organization, its culture, and their roles.
· New Employee Orientation: Designing and delivering orientation programs for new hires, introducing them to company policies, values, and organizational structure. Curating orientation materials, handbooks, and presentations to facilitate effective onboarding.
· Training and Development: Assessing the training needs of employees and the organization as a whole. Designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
· Employee Engagement: Implementing mechanisms for collecting feedback from employees to gauge job satisfaction and identify areas for improvement, such as new hire check ins, stay interviews, and exit interviews.
· Employee Recognition Programs: Developing and managing programs to recognize and reward employee achievements, such as work milestones and birthday recognition.
· Compliance and Legal Matters: Understanding and ensuring HR policies and practices comply with relevant employment laws and regulations as well as maintaining accurate employee records and documentation to meet legal and organizational requirements.
· HRIS (Human Resources Information System): Utilizing HRIS to streamline HR processes, manage employee data, and generate reports. Knowledge of Paycor is preferred.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or HR certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources Management.
- This position involves traveling to various school locations.
- Familiar with HRIS software; especially Paycor. Proficient in Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Excel
- Understanding of benefits administration and payroll.
- Proven experience in human resources management roles.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR staff.
- Strategic thinking, detail oriented and problem-solving skills required.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Strong organizational acumen, and a commitment to employee development and engagement.

- Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range ($80,000- $90,000)
