Job Description
Cameron University Department of Business seeks applicants for an in-person tenure track position. Applicants willing to teach in-person, hybrid, and online courses and possess educational/professional experiences in Operation Management and/or Economics are encouraged to apply. This is not a remote teaching position. Applicants should be available to start teaching on campus in the fall semester.
We seek faculty who value connections with students, continuous classroom innovation, and student engagement. Additionally faculty in this position should be willing to connect with local businesses and promote partnerships with industry.
Departmental faculty appreciate the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively with peers. Faculty provide instruction within our six-degree programs at the associate, baccalaureate, and graduate levels. Faculty members have access to professional development and lectureship funds which can be used to provide creative high-quality educational activities to graduate and undergraduate students, in both the traditional classroom and online. The targeted teaching load is 24 hours per academic year, excluding summers, averaging 12 hours per semester. While teaching is our priority, published research (for an assistant professor level) and service responsibilities are requirements for retention and promotion
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants with an MBA or ABD in operations management, economics, or related field from a regionally accredited and/or ACBSP university will be considered for an instructor level position. A candidate with a completed terminal (Ph.D. or DBA) degree in management or economics or a terminal degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in economics or operations management will be considered for an assistant professor, tenure track level position. Faculty/instructors will teach a variety of upper and lower division courses online and in-person. Applicants without a Ph.D. will begin at the instructor level if the doctoral degree is not completed/documented on a transcript prior to the beginning of the fall semester.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctorate in Operations Management, Economics, or related field from an AACSB accredited university by date of interview is preferred. Teaching experience at the university level as well as evidence of teaching excellence and scholarly research is preferred. Industry experience in business operations, workforce development, entrepreneurship, or related proficiency is also highly preferred.
SALARY RANGE:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. In addition to faculty’s base salary, CU offers comprehensive benefits including fully covering employee’s contribution to the Oklahoma Teacher Retirement System and the employee’s health insurance premium.
