Executive Director, The Women's Fund

Pay Range: $118,000 - $125,000

THE WOMEN’S FUND
The Women's Fund (TWF) of Greater Cincinnati Foundation is a change agent committed to advancing social and economic mobility for women in our region. Through community partnerships, research, and advocacy, TWF is designing a community where all women can participate, prosper, and reach their full potential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
TWF is seeking an innovative, inspiring, and bold leader with a deep commitment to both gender and racial equity. This is a unique opportunity to be at the helm of an organization that harnesses the power of collective giving to tackle some of the most challenging issues facing women and girls and the intersection of racial and gender equity. The ED will lead TWF in its efforts to redistribute power and resources, and to eliminate barriers that keep women (especially women of color) from participating, prospering, and reaching their full potential.

The ED will oversee all strategic and operational functions of the organization with a budget close to $1M. TWF is advised by a volunteer Leadership Council and has several committees of volunteers who work to carry out the mission.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
The ED will possess the following attributes and competencies:

Strategic & Visionary Leadership
The ED will be a visionary and pragmatic leader with the courage to adapt and innovate while remaining grounded in TWF mission and vision, modeling its values, and working alongside staff to achieve its goals. This individual will bring an understanding of what it means to lead an organization during a time of transformation and will be comfortable with shared governance and leadership. Forward-thinking, the ED will be able to boldly move TWF to its next chapter.

Organizational Development & Excellence
The ED will bring experience developing an organization while applying an equity lens. This individual will understand and be able to build the infrastructure and support systems needed for staff to thrive in service of the mission. An inclusive, transparent, and unifying manager with a shared leadership style, the ED will build trust with staff and establish clarity on roles, responsibilities, and targeted outcomes. This individual will demonstrate the ability to build, nurture, and retain a strong team of diverse professionals, as well as foster a collegial and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity and productivity and ensures staff feel respected, valued, and successful.

Fundraising & Relationship Building Skills
The ED will serve as chief fundraiser for TWF. The ideal candidate will have a keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities and solicit major gifts. This natural relationship builder will excel at developing relationships with current and potential donors as well as collaborating with the Leadership Council, volunteer committees, staff, and community representatives in business, government, grassroots, advocacy, and other non-profits. This leader will also work closely with staff to design and create campaigns, events, and appeals; and have exceptional drive for furthering fundraising efforts and growing the donor base.

Excellent Communication Skills
Serving as a passionate ambassador for TWF, the ED will be able to thoughtfully and strategically articulate, inspire and motivate a diverse range of stakeholders around the mission, vision, and values. A respectful communicator and engaged listener, the ED will build strong relationships and trust with culturally specific community-based partners, business leaders and elected officials to develop community-informed strategies that maximize TWF’s positive impact in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A passion for improving the lives of women and girls.
  • Demonstrated experience in gender and/or racial equity
  • Proven experience in non-profit leadership and management
  • Proven track record of execution and delivering results
  • Keen intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning of economic self-sufficiency issues and systems change
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with diverse groups within TWF and the community.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to recruit volunteers from all areas of the community and to establish a diverse group of organizational participants.
  • Strong public speaking experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, especially budget planning and coordination.
  • Experience in fundraising and major gifts preferred but not required
  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred)
  • Ability to function independently as well as part of a team.
