Your Impact:
As a member of the Advancement team, the Development and Communications Specialist is responsible for coordinating donor stewardship, organizing special events, and leading digital fundraising strategies. It is the responsibility of this role to maintain positive relationships with donors by providing them with personalized gift acknowledgment letters and maintaining constituent records in the database. This position, in collaboration with the Director of Donor Engagement, oversees the planning and execution of fundraising events, ensuring that they are engaging and effective in creating donor support. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing and implementing digital fundraising strategies, leveraging online platforms and social media to reach a wider audience and increase donations. These skills will be utilized by the Development and Communications Specialist to maintain and build a strong and supportive donor community at Inglis.

What You'll Do:
- Responsible for maintaining all data in the donor database, Raisers Edge, including: recording all contributions; maintaining event modules, and preparing timely acknowledgement letters to donors.
- Maintains donor records and processes regular financial reports while ensuring consistent data integrity is maintained.
- Supports the Director of Donor Engagement on all special event logistics— serving as the event project manager; contracting vendors, coordinating event staff/volunteers, collateral, and materials; and supporting event committees by preparing materials, maintaining agendas, attending meetings, and completing accurate and timely minutes.
- Works collaboratively with the Advancement team, Business Office, and external vendors as assigned.
- Organizes logistics for the Development and External Affairs Committee meetings as well as other meetings (both internally and externally), including scheduling venues and parking, recording accurate meeting notes, catering, etc.
- Coordinates mailings for the Development department, including editing mailing lists, formatting, mail merges, and printing.
- Serves as the primary liaison for all in-kind donations, coordinating with other Inglis departments, communicating with donors, and coordinating donation delivery/pick-up and acknowledgment.
- Manages online accounts, subscriptions, memberships, and departmental expenses; keeps accurate documentation and expense tracking for the Advancement Team.
- Monitors and responds to and/or refers communications received through various channels for the Development department and serves as a point of reference for general inquiries.
- Works with the Digital Marketing Manager and Advancement Operations Manager to support the development of digital fundraising and donor engagement strategies, including writing and copy editing for emails, social media, and the website, as well as developing email segmentation strategies for regular donor communications.
- Supports the annual publications plan by contributing articles and other content to publications, including the organization’s newsletter.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor of Arts degree in a related field and three or more years of fundraising or marketing experience is preferred, but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Smartsheet.
- Proficient in Raiser’s Edge, Emma, and Hootsuite, or equivalent development and marketing communications tools.
- Experience with Adobe, GiveSmart, and DonorSearch is a plus but is not required.
- Excels in donor relations, event coordination and customer service and is detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
- Applies a careful planning and systematic approach to processes and procedures and demonstrates excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Pay Rate for this Role: $60k-$70k/ Annually
