About Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC-EIWI): RMHC-EIWI is a 501(c) not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing comfort, care, and support to families with ill or injured children. Our primary services include the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City, Ronald McDonald Family Room at Unity Point-St. Luke’s, and Ronald McDonald Family Room at University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
Job Summary: The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the organization. The COO will work closely with the CEO to develop and implement strategies that ensure the organization’s sustainability, growth, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Ronald McDonald House, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all functions.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with licensing standards.
- Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop long-term strategic plans and annual operational plans.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement strategies to achieve organizational goals.
- Financial Management:
- Oversee fiscal management for all operational functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Enhance financial stability by managing resources efficiently and collaborating with the Chief Development Officer to identify organizational needs.
- Human Resources:
- Lead and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Program Development:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality programs and services that meet the needs of the families served by RMHC-EIWI.
- Evaluate and improve program effectiveness through data analysis and feedback from stakeholders.
- Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, healthcare partners, and community organizations.
- Represent RMHC-EIWI at public events, meetings, and conferences to promote the organization’s mission and programs.
- Risk Management:
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the organization’s assets and ensure the safety of families, staff, and volunteers.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a nonprofit organization or a related field.
- Proven experience in operational and financial management, strategic planning, and program development.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of RMHC-EIWI.
- Experience in healthcare or family services is a plus.
