Hiring Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 (DOE)
Job Type: Full – time, exempt

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
In this role, the Director of Development supervises two staff, the Marketing and Communications Manager and a Development Manager (new role created in 2024). This position will also lead the strategy execution of two contract vendors responsibilities (Grants Writer and Event Management). He/She will serve as an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting Gabriel’s Angels (GA’s) sustainability and growth. In partnership with the CEO, this position is responsible for organizational sustainability through project and relationship management; resource development activities; branding, marketing, and media. This role will strengthen existing and forge new relationships to build GA’s visibility, impact, and financial resources. It is expected that the amount raised by GA will increase in future years as the Director of Development systematically and effectively strengthens the organization's overall fundraising capacity.
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:
- Responsible for leading, planning and executing the development activities while also working in partnership with the CEO.
- Lead, own, and provide CEO support to a portfolio of individual donors and corporations to deepen existing support.
- Provide and lead support, strategy, and direction for the GA development initiatives.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the annual Fundraising Calendar (appeals, campaigns, direct mail, events, stewardship activities, etc.).
- Ensures that all annual fundraising goals are met, oversee support to maximize efficiency and streamline internal systems when and where appropriate.
- Lead production and management of direct mail appeals (annual newsletter, tax credit appeal, etc.) as per marketing calendar.
- Oversee digital execution—across email, website, and social media—of fundraising and engagement campaigns throughout the year.
- Serve as the key staff member to the Board’s Resource Development Committee. With the CEO, support and create ongoing opportunities and activities to inspire and engage the board in their role in donor cultivation and stewardship.
- Lead planning, coordinating, and executing GA major fundraising events.
- Create and co-lead planning team including committee and/or role descriptions and expectations.
- Responsible for leading team towards securing and coordinating sponsors, including benefit fulfillment, registrations, communication materials, and other details/logistics to ensure the event is a success at sharing knowledge, building connections, and raising financial contributions.
- Maintain current grant relationships, seek new funding opportunities, and review and submit grants, grant reports, and any other grant-related item with contracted Grants Writer.
- Lead and support strategy, around marketing, communications, and branding with Marketing & Communications Manager
- Develop, facilitate, and strengthen community outreach strategies to increase brand and mission awareness and financial support of GA. Identify and participate in strategic activities (i.e. businesses, schools, civic groups, etc.)
- Actively manage and further develop GA’s donor relationship management system, Bloomerang
- Understand the current needs of GA programs and meet those needs by securing resources
- Participate in development activities that may be outside normal working hours. May require weekend or evening time during events.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other departments.
- Supervise assigned staff in accordance with agency personnel practices including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, guidance, etc.
- Participate in the process of ongoing personal and professional development.
- Other duties, as assigned and vital to Gabriel's Angels mission.

Additional Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in the following: Donor Database (Bloomerang), E-newsletters (Constant Contact and Bloomerang)
- Must have strong interpersonal relations skills.
- Understand nonprofit sector.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Valid driver's license, own vehicle, auto insurance and ability to travel within Central and Southern Arizona.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Director of Development will have a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience. A degree in Nonprofit Management or CFRE is a plus.
This position is exempt and full-time (40 hours per week), This position will be based out of our co-working space in Phoenix but must be willing to travel throughout the state of Arizona. Currently Gabriel’s Angels Central Arizona office is operating with a hybrid of remote and in-office work with at least two days working in office.
This person must be committed to the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the agency. A passion for Gabriel’s Angels mission and working with people is required along with an outgoing personality and the ability to work with limited supervision. Due to the nature of our work, all personnel working must be federally fingerprinted and pass an FBI background check.
