About Mandel JCC: Mandel JCC of Cleveland is a nonprofit fitness, wellness and community center serving people in all stages of life. The Beachwood campus is home to a total fitness and aquatics center, an Early Childhood Center and garden, Stonehill Conference Center, and outdoor grounds that host our popular summer J-Day Camps. Summary: The Chief Program Officer role is a perfect role for you if you are hands on, collaborative, and eager to support programming teams and the Jewish and surrounding communities. This position advances the Mandel Jewish Community Center’s goals by ensuring that all programs incorporate the mission, and core values of the agency by meeting the community needs while being fiscally responsible.
Essential Functions:
- Must possess the ability to make informed independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, lay leaders, vendors, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, and implement the goals, objectives, policies and procedures that are necessary for providing proper administrative procedures.

Key Responsibilities: (Specific duties included but are not limited to:)
- Provide leadership and coordinate the development and implementation of each Department’s programs and activities with related staff.
- Ensure that the Department’s goals and objectives are carried out in accordance with the JCC overall mission.
- Responsible for the development, administration, implementation and monitoring of all departmental budgets in collaboration with programming directors and teams.
- Develop and implement high quality programs and activities in areas of responsibility that ensure participation, positive membership growth and sustainability while adding value to JCC membership.
- Communicates and provides updates on such programming to the membership and general community
- Manage and development community partnerships to further enhance fitness & wellness.
- Supervise, train and evaluate the professional staff in departments listed above.
- Provide leadership to staff in conceptualizing, organizing and implementing relative programs in all departments.
- Ensure that all programs and activities are coordinated with overall agency schedules, calendars and promotional efforts.
- Manage communications with the Marketing & Communications department creating clear targets and objectives incorporating the brand and providing clear communications to the appropriate audiences.
- Setting targets, objectives for each project and monitoring KPI’s.
- Maintain contractual relationships, mitigate and resolve any disputes, and communicates any project impacts accordingly.
- Represent the JCC as a positive role model to others both within and outside the JCC while always striving to achieve the highest quality of customer service to all individuals and groups.
- Be a liaison between the agency and members; effectively deal with problems, communicate with the members and carry through the resolutions needed to solve the problems
- As a member of the Executive Staff, the Chief Programming Officer attends Board of Directors and Executive Committee meetings and program department meetings as necessary.
- Attend JCC special programs/events and other community events as needed.
- Maintain relationships with other Jewish and Non-Jewish community organizations
- Publicize all programs to the community of all the Department’s programs in conjunction with Marcom
- Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- S. or B.A. College Degree required. Master's Degree in Jewish Communal Service, Social Work, Administration, Business or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in senior management or a membership-driven multi-purpose facility.
- Excellent supervisory, customer service, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills essential.
- Excellent leadership skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce
Physical Demands:
- Visual acuity and accuracy
- Ability to move throughout the building
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to view a computer screen and perform above functions on a computer
- Ability to sit, bend, or stand for up to eight hours per day
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as necessary
