About SUNY Broome Community College:

SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York.  The College has over 7,700 students annually, and services over 6,100 students per semester in Liberal Arts, Business & Professional Studies, Health Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs.  An additional 1,600 students are served through the College's community education and non-credit programs.

 


Job Description:

SUNY Broome Community College has an immediate opening for a part-time Clerk in the Library. The PT Clerk provides support to the Library Circulation Desk Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:30 am - 11:30 am and Friday between the hours of 7:30 am -11:00 am.

This is a part-time, 12-month position with varied hours and no more than 19.5 hours a week. Duties include routine office and clerical tasks including; input of information into the Library Circulation and Catalog system, scanning barcodes from student/staff ID's, books, etc., shelving and shifting of books, answering phones, and filing.

This position requires flexibility, attention to detail, ability to multitask and work effectively in a customer service-oriented department with students, faculty, the general public, and campus constituencies, as part of a team environment.

 


Requirements:

The successful candidate must work independently, have computer skills, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and the ability to effectively communicate and work in a fast-paced environment.

 


Additional Information:

The hourly rate for this position is $16.82..

Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
