Research Program Assistant

Job Description

The Department of Medicine's Division of Infectious Diseases and Center for Nontuberculous Mycobacteria and Bronchiectasis (NTM-B) is looking for a casual Research Program Assistant. The responsibilities focus on the administrative and regulatory requirements of assigned studies and operational support for the program. This position requires tremendous attention to detail, maintenance of regulatory processes, research subject contact, and miscellaneous administrative responsibilities. Flexible work schedule based on availability, maximum of 40 hours/week, but anticipate on average 10 hours/week.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support BRR study recruitment, participant consenting, clinical data abstraction, data entry, and study document management.
  • Assist the team with IRB, regulatory, and sponsor documentation.
  • Generate study-specific reports utilizing the REDCap database, enrollment logs, and reports on study efforts at routinely scheduled research group meetings.
  • Contact participants by phone, as needed, to consent for registry studies, collect data, and schedule and confirm appointments, providing answers to participants in BRR and Pronto studies.
  • Provide miscellaneous administrative support, e.g. keeping records, meeting scheduling, and subject reimbursements.
  • All other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Some related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with REDCap database.
  • Experience with EPIC medical records.
  • Basic clinical familiarity with nontuberculous mycobacterial infections and bronchiectasis.
  • Some college courses preferred.
  • Some related research experience
  • Health-related experience in a university/hospital setting.

Starting Salary Range: $15.40 - $23.25 HRLY ($20.00 HRLY targeted; Commensurate with experience)
