General Summary

Specific Position Duties

• Supervising and coordinating the work of grounds employees, assigning tasks and ensuring that they are completed in a timely manner. 
• Inspecting outdoor areas regularly to identify any maintenance needs, such as mowing, trimming, or watering. 
• Planning and implementing landscaping projects, including planting flowers, shrubs, and trees, and maintaining existing plantings. 
• Monitoring the use of fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals to ensure compliance with safety regulations. 
• Maintaining and repairing equipment used in groundskeeping, such as mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems. 
• Training groundskeepers, providing proper techniques and safety procedures. 
• Keeping records of work performed, including maintenance schedules, equipment repairs, and inventory of supplies. 
• Collaborating with other departments or contractors to coordinate maintenance or landscaping projects. 
• Ensuring that outdoor areas are clean and free of debris, including snow and ice removal during winter months. 
• Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe working environment for the grounds team.
• Must be able too lift, push, pull, move or carry heavy objects weighing up to 75 pounds
• Operate motorized equipment or machinery
• Responsible for licensed application of all herbicides, insecticides, and chemicals to trees, shrubs, plants, and grasses
• Perform other duties assigned
