Overview
TRC is currently seeking experienced Roadway Inspector to support our team in the San Diego CA area. This role will focus on all aspects of required field and office construction work, including but not limited to, inspection of non-structural and structural construction operations, inspection of traffic control system compliance, CCO preparation and analysis, CPM scheduling analysis, and SWPPP enforcement.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily inspections and complete documentation including daily reports documenting contractor labor, equipment, daily construction progress, project site visitors, non-conforming work, safety issues, traffic control, field measured quantiles, field discussions with the contractor and public, and daily project photographs, etc.
- Coordinate with clients/owners, other consultants, contractors, materials testers and others involved with the project.
- Assist Resident Engineers and provide input on project schedule, extra work bills, potential change orders, and communication with businesses and residents.
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
- Monitor construction for compliance with project documents including collecting and checking material tags and certificates of compliance.
- Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures.
- Inspect road and bridge construction (based on Caltrans Standards), including checking grades, formwork, rebar placement, concrete batch tickets, curing method, etc.
- Communicate with project team members and provide recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Highschool degree/GED or equivalent.
- 2-year Associates degree in relevant area is a plus.
- 3-5+ years progressively responsible experience in roadway construction inspection, or 6-8+ years of general construction experience.
- Demonstrate knowledge in construction inspection applications.
- Knowledge and experience in specific work trades such as traffic control, asphalt paving, concrete, electrical, plumbing and utilities installation, instrumentation and controls as required per project needs.
- Familiar with regulatory requirements such as CalOsha, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Regional Water Quality Control Boards, and other regulatory agencies as required.
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint and MS Project.
- Valid CA driver's license.
- Willingness to travel.
- Competent verbal and written communication skills.
- Caltrans experience strongly preferred.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range
USD $116,668.00 - USD $185,037.00 /Yr.
