Job Description

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety division is currently hiring for the position of Lead Banquet Set Ups at the Morris Inn. The University Operations, Events, and Safety division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.

Why this position?
The Lead Banquet Set Ups position will serve as a supervisor to the banquet set-up staff. They will be responsible for overseeing the professional setup and breakdown of event spaces in the Morris Inn and Notre Dame Conference Center. They will provide guidance and training to new and existing staff. This lead position will support the banquet managers by helping with inventory, staff compliance, scheduling, and training. Must insure all event spaces are set up according to the Banquet Event Order and diagram. This position has the responsibility to set, maintain and refresh all banquet meeting rooms, dining rooms, and other spaces as needed in the Morris Inn Hotel and Notre Dame Conference Center according to the specifications of the Banquet Event Order form, room diagram, and Morris Inn standards. This person will gather supplies for banquet events prior to the event and perform the necessary cleaning duties required after the event. The Banquet Set Up position must ensure that all banquet and meeting rooms are properly set up and torn down in a safe and timely manner.

  • Conditions in this position may be indoor or outdoor settings, depending on banquet location; varied weather conditions are expected working in this position
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as business dictates

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 to 12 months of experience
  • Physical requirements include the ability to work long hours with heavy work; exerting up to 100 pounds
