Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Budget Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the financial planning and budgeting activities of the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS). In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Post-Award Finance, the Budget Analyst will be responsible for developing an innovative and dynamic financial model to advance the strategic goals of the lab.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience:
Five (5) years of experience building complex financial models and conducting budget analysis, preferably at a large professional accounting firm.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and budgeting software.
  • Ability to build complex financial models to inform budgeting and forecasting decisions.
  • Experience using Tableau or similar data visualization tools to create informative and interactive reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial tools.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants must be able to obtain a top-secret security clearance. If selected, you must meet the requirements for access to classified information. You will be subject to a government security clearance investigation that includes criminal and credit history checks and verification of U.S. citizenship, birth, education, employment, and military history.

  • Previous budget and financial model development experience at a large accounting or consulting firm is strongly preferred.
  • Master’s degree or advanced certification, such as CPA.
  • Knowledge of university budgeting processes and/or federal contract management.

Additional Information:

The salary range commensurate with experience is $88,800 to $111,000.
