Wellness Ambassador

Job Description

The Wellness Ambassadors (WA) position will provide support to the Office of Student Advocacy by helping with event promotion, OSA promotion of services, building connections with CCA and local organizations, and supporting students’ in accessing basic needs through community resources This position will report to the Coordinator of Basic Needs and Student Wellness. The goal of this position is to have an active student who is well connected to their area of study/ school and can be a peer advocate and resource. WA will serve as ambassadors for the Office of Student Advocacy and will work to promote and showcase office initiatives/ resources to their departments and peers. Open Ambassador Positions – all ambassadors will work to reach the goals of OSA and CCA within their school area.
 
The ambassador must be from the area they would represent. We are looking to fill 6 positions.

• Creative Industries Wellness Ambassador
• Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Wellness Ambassador
• People, Societies, and Ideas Wellness Ambassador
• Health Wellness Ambassador
• Communication and Languages Wellness Ambassador

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Support & Participation

  • Staff and prepare for events and resource tabling opportunities (I.e. Foxy’s Mobile Market, CCA Community
  • Resource Days, Trick or Treat Street, etc.)
  • Lead marketing & communication efforts to their area of campus/ study (including faculty, staff, and students)
  • Communicate and act as a brand ambassador for CCA when interacting with student groups and guests.
  • Support with tasks for events such as photocopying, printing, gathering supplies, designing engaging activities,
  • Brainstorming prizes and ordering of Office of Student Advocacy swag/ promotional products
  • Support with student focused communication
  • Research and contribute ideas to upcoming events and collaborations
Case Management Support
  • Complete job-related training modules including: FERPA, Title XI, Confidentiality, DEI, Suicide Prevention,
  • Effective Communication, CSA Clery Compliance training and more, as available.
  • Support the process of getting students enrolled in government-based benefits and connected with community resources through event promotion, event staffing, and resource promotion.
  • Support students with getting connected to a case manager.
Office Management
  • On a weekly basis maintain and re-stock campus Lactation & Chest-Feeding Rooms, Care Cabinet, and Snack Stations
  • Maintain office space & storage space.
  • Provide quality customer service to anyone that comes into the office.
  • Support students with “refer a concern” forms or a case manager intake form.
  • Making appointments for staff on campus.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Connected to your academic community at CCA
  • Reliable transportation to and from events on and off campus
  • Able to have a flexible schedule: this means tailoring your scheduling with your supervisor to best meet the mission needs and yours. We can offer hybrid work hours and are flexible with your family needs and school requirements.
  • Understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion and its impact on serving community college students
  • Work Study Eligible
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have completed FAFSA on file
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum six (6) credit hours
  • Must NOT have yet obtained 1st Bachelor's Degree
  • Must be seeking an eligible program of study
