We currently have an exceptional role for an Assistant Vice President of Labor Relations to manage the medical center’s labor relation function, including acting as Hearing/Grievance Officer, responding to EEOC complaints, assisting Department Heads in carrying out disciplinary actions and investigations.

Specifically, you will:

  • Plan, coordinate, and administer policies relating to many phases of human resources activities and programs; conducts research to recommend changes in policies.
  • Serve as consultant on human resources matters for task forces, project teams.
  • Interpret hospital policies and regulations to new employees and supervisory staff.
  • Initiate policies and procedures necessary to achieve objectives of the Medical Center
  • Prepare labor relations training manuals and implementation of training systems.
  • Investigate causes of disputes and grievances and recommends corrective action;
  • Select, hire and supervises staff in area of responsibility; initiates disciplinary action, including terminations; annual performance, promotions, raises, etc.
  • Participate in union negotiations and administration of union contract.
  • Act as liaison between personnel and management; direct employee relations programs.
  • Respond to various government agencies in potential discrimination suits.

We require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Administration or related field; JD strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Labor Relations, preferably in a unionized medical setting.
  • Good English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • HR Certification a strong plus.

Pay: $175,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
