Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

This position is through the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology located in Baltimore, MD.

The Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET) seeks to hire a Financial Coordinator to assist the Assistant Director of Research with financial administration of grants and contracts. The primary duties include to process and verify accuracy of financial transactions and ensuring compliance with various federal and state policies. This role will also track subcontract invoices, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other routine administrative office tasks.

The successful candidate will be an important member of HAB-CTI project and will assist with project coordination, in areas of finance and accounting as part of regular duties. This position is a contractual II position, renewed annually depending on funding.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (accounting or finance) and 2+ years of professional experience in accounting & finance.
  • Strong ability to prioritize under pressure while being thorough.
  • Ability to independently research polices & procedures.
  • Ability to quickly adapt new systems & software.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills specially in Microsoft excel and Google suite.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferences:

  • Working experience in higher education, specifically at University of Maryland system is, strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of various financial transactional software.

Additional Information:

This position is through the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology located in Baltimore, MD.

This could be a hybrid position, but located within the region.
The salary range for this position is $50k-55k.

Candidates must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the USA. No visa sponsorship is offered for this position.
