This is a full-time leadership position, eligible for Scripps Health annual Management Incentive Compensation Plan. This position is partial remote and located in San Diego and does require residence in San Diego. Includes $8k relocation assistance for eligible new hires.

The Manager, Chargemaster is responsible for the oversight and leadership of the activities and functions of a department. Participates in department strategic planning and contributes to its success through effectively communicating goals and expectations to staff. Ensures effective use of system resources. Provides functional expertise essential to staff and leadership. Ensures expenses do not exceed budget. Participates in standards of practice and process improvement activities. Oversees staffing matrices and possesses authority to hire, conduct performance evaluations, and discipline employees. Ensures policy and procedures are followed by staff.

- Candidates with less than 1 year of experience
In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:
- Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
- Must remain in original department/specialty
- Must remain in original Job Title
- Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance or Accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or in an ancillary therapeutic or diagnostic patient care field may be substituted.
- Five years' experience in acute care hospital environment, with three years' experience in hospital chargemaster setup and maintenance, preferably in a multi-hospital setting.
- Specific experience should include procedural coding for Medicare, Medi-Cal and California Workers Compensation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communications skills.
- Three years supervisory experience including project management
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- Active certification as a RHIA, RHIT and/or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from AHIMA, or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), and/or CPMA from AAPC or Certification in Healthcare Revenue Integrity (CHRI) from HCPro LLC preferred.
