Essential Job Duties
- Team Lead: Oversee and guide Fiscal Assistants in their daily tasks and training, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Fiscal Operations: Perform core duties that support the accurate management of project funds in the Office of Contracts & Grants.
- Lead the Fiscal Assistants team, providing training and task oversight.
- Review project agreements and financial arrangements to establish budget guidelines.
- Assist Accounts Receivable with cash management and reconciliation.
- Process financial transactions and maintain accurate project financial records.
- Ensure adherence to file retention requirements from project setup to completion.
- Support the Facilities and Administration Cost Proposal process.
Other Responsibilities
- Answering the main office line
- Responding to customers’ inquiries and requests
- Ordering and processing supplies
- Sorting and distributing mail
- Organizing, boxing and relocating files for storage
- Ensuring confidential files remain confidential from set-up thru destruction
Minimum Experience/Education
Other Required Qualifications
- Proven ability to analyze data and communicate findings clearly to broad audiences, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience utilizing MS Word, Excel, Access and other software in a business setting.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service, with a customer-centric approach
- Ability to lift and move boxes and up to 35 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles; for example general ledger, journal entries, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Previous experience in the administration of sponsored awards.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Financial Systems
- Knowledge of the University and State financial processes.
Required License or Certification
Valid NC Driver's License required
