Position Overview

The Director, Commercial Launch Lead is a high visibility role that will drive the commercialization of a new test in our Precision Oncology (PO) Business at Exact Sciences. Collaborating with the PO Business Unit, this role will be responsible for leading a team of cross functional commercial stakeholders to successfully develop and transition product from development to commercialization and through the relevant commercial stage gates for successful launch execution.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assemble and lead commercial launch team to develop overall commercial strategic and tactical plans and complete all deliverables to ensure overall launch success. Team could include marketing, sales, commercial operations, customer experience, customer care, market access, finance, market research and analytics, and medical.
  • Collaborate with cross functional team to set winning go-to-market strategy for product, including objective setting, validation or development of value proposition, market segmentation and sizing, customer targeting, business case finalization, KOL insights and engagement, messaging, marketing tactical planning and overall customer experience.
  • Ensure product strategy is aligned with overall PO screening portfolio.
  • Collaborate with downstream marketing team to develop, iterate, and finalize action plan and marketing mix for each target segment or stakeholder, across health systems, providers, patients.
  • Ability to work independently to manage large and complex program across commercial launch phase gate process, ensuring program launch is successful and delivered on time and on budget.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, champion and advocate for continuity of strategy and execution against a single focused set of plans and goals through phase gates. Lead the planning and preparation for milestone presentations to commercial leadership.
  • Effectively manage, support, and guide your team, including, but not limited to delegating tasks and responsibilities, assess employee performance and provide helpful feedback and training opportunities.

  • Ability to travel 20% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Science, or field related to job duties.
  • 10+ years of experience in pipeline or strategic marketing, program management, product marketing, or pharmaceuticals/Medical Device consulting roles.
  • Experience working within matrix-based teams and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and proactively, and maintain high degree of planning, coordination, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and resolve conflict with diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with peers and cross-functional partners outside of immediate team.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and make the complex easy for others to understand.
  • Strong financial acumen with a good understanding of P&L drivers and the ability to develop appropriate investment and sales forecasts.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or field related to job duties.

Salary Range:

$174,000.00 - $277,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
