FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Economics and Business in the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at the City College of New York seeks candidates for a Lecturer position in Finance to begin in Fall 2025. This is a teaching-oriented position. The Department is preparing to launch a new finance track BBA degree program in Fall 2025 and is seeking an experienced lecturer in the discipline who can teach a broad range of courses in finance such as introduction to finance, accounting, financial analysis and decision making, corporate finance and economics of investments at the introductory and intermediate level, as well as specialized field courses in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related fields for undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants for an appointment as lecturer in the Economics and Business Department should have a record of successful teaching or other experience relevant to the department's needs, or strong evidence of the potential for successful teaching.

Preference will be given to candidates with specialization or experience in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics or related fields. Familiarity with application of Excel workbook financial modelling to financial analysis courses and relevant financial sector industry experience a plus.

Lecturer faculty make a substantial contribution to the Department's program at the College through participation in program assessment, curriculum design, and student mentoring. Lecturer faculty participate as full faculty members of the Economics and Business Department, the College, and the University. Service expectations will include serving on committees and contributing to projects and programs, particularly those related to teaching and learning. In their fifth year, lecturers are eligible for promotion to a Certificate of Continuous Employment, similar to tenure, based on teaching excellence and dedication to service.
