Assistant Professor/Instructor in Accounting

Otterbein University is accepting applications for an Instructor/Assistant Professor position in Accounting. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate is expected to excel in the areas of teaching, scholarship, research and service related to Otterbein’s BS degree in Accounting. Teaching responsibilities will be primarily in Intermediate Accounting 1 and 2, Advanced Accounting, Financial Accounting, Controllership and Taxation. Faculty members must be able to teach daytime and evening classes. Faculty members are also expected to be involved in professional and community activities for the purposes of scholarship, professional development, student advising and mentorship, and service.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Ph.D or DBA in a business discipline with a specialization in Accounting is preferred. A CPA license and MBA are required. Effective teaching experience at the baccalaureate level and a demonstrated record of scholarship is also required, as is experience working in the accounting field. The ideal candidate must possess superior communication, leadership and organization skills, and an ability to work effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse communities and cultures. This is a tenure-track position with commensurate expectations for teaching, scholarship, research and service. Candidates without terminal degrees will hold the rank of Instructor, Non-Tenure Track.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

 

COMPENSATION: For the rank of Assistant Professor (terminal degree) - $87,500, Instructor rank is $78,000.

 The Department of Business, Accounting & Economics is composed of 9 full-time faculty and 9 part-time faculty. Majors offered: a B.S. in Accounting & Public Accounting, Business Administration & Management, Business Analytics, Finance and Marketing as well as a B.A. in Economics. Minors offered: Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, International Business & Management, Finance, Marketing, Marketing Analytics and Sports Management. recently established department at Otterbein.
