Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement Systems and Analytics, the Director of Advancement Systems serves as a key strategic partner and second to the Executive Director. The Director is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and integration of all Development and University Relations (DAUR) Advancement Systems, including but not limited to Ellucian CRM Advance and Blackbaud Fundraising Performance Management. At the direction of the Executive Director, the incumbent executes the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Advancement applications, data systems, and processes supporting DAUR’s fundraising and constituent engagement strategies. This position may require work outside of normal business hours in the evenings and/or on weekends in the event of critical system disruptions.
Essential Functions
- Continually assesses the data needs for the Advancement Systems and Analytics team and DAUR.
- Recommends and implements improvements to products, systems, and processes; works to automate, integrate, and update current and, as appropriate, implement new systems and processes to help streamline and facilitate efficient data analysis.
- Analyzes donor and engagement trends to inform fundraising strategy and decision-making.
- Serves as the team’s point person for project intake and management, ensuring clear and transparent communication of project status to stakeholders.
- Partners with Fordham IT to address and advocate for specific DAUR needs, solutions, and other systems resources and assistance.
- Administers DAUR systems user access to ensure the security and enablement of the Ellucian CRM Advance and related systems.
- Ensures systems availability, maintaining and enhancing self-service and ad hoc reports and queries to meet the day-to-day DAUR operational needs. serves as the team lead in the absence of the Executive Director.

Management Responsibilities
Supervises the work of other Fordham employees who are individual contributors. Responsible for hiring, training and developing, managing performance and administering corrective action. Has significant input in compensation decisions.
Additional Functions
- Participates in University-wide working groups on IT strategy and policy.
- Keeps current with and advocates for emerging technologies and trends related to constituent data management, fundraising, and outreach.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or related field
- Minimum of 6 years of full-time, related work experience
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in managing CRM systems, relational databases, writing SQL queries, and related application system platforms.
- Experience with application development best practices such as agile methodologies, requirements gathering, requirements analysis, prototyping, testing, and deployment to production.
- Proven leadership skills as a creative, effective, team-oriented leader, thoughtful collaborator, and calm under pressure with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to read, interpret, explain, and apply technical information about business processes, software, and hardware to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex requests with multiple priorities and deliverables and have excellent time management and project management skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to developing staff skills.
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience working in a development and alumni relations office within higher education.
- Familiarity with Ellucian CRM Advance, Power BI, Ellucian Banner, and Blackbaud platforms.
Minimum Starting Salary: $140,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $155,000
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
