About New Mexico Military Institute: NMMI is a state-supported, co-educational college preparatory high school and junior college, complete with Junior and Senior ROTC programs. With a Corps of Cadets numbering up to 1,000 young men and women, NMMI provides an accredited college preparatory curriculum at the high school level.

Position: Under general supervision, the Campus Police Officer is responsible for protecting and serving those who live, work, and visit the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) and for providing law enforcement services as described in New Mexico statutes. The Campus Police Officer also performs related duties as assigned. This is a non-exempt, part-time position. The salary is $18.25 per hour. The job description is available upon request.

 

Tasks:

· Patrols the campus to prevent, detect, and respond to situations.

· Transports and deposits the proceeds from the daily transactions.

· Prevents and produces reports of criminal activities and follows up on the investigation of cases and reports to the office.

· Maintains files, fingerprints, and vehicle registrations, as well as other miscellaneous administrative documents.

· Other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Skills:

· Knowledge of the principles and practices of law enforcement.

· Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, statutes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

· Knowledge of the New Mexico Blue Book.

· Ability to obtain knowledge of the NMMI Operations and Procedures book.

· Ability to obtain knowledge of the NMMI Honor Code.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

· High School Diploma.

· NM Police Officer Certification.

· Law enforcement experience.

 

Preferred:

· Associate’s Degree.
