Job Description
The Department of Business at Wheeling University is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position who can teach in combination of the following areas; Economics, Finance, Accounting, and/or Management starting in the spring semester of 2025. We are looking for individuals who can excel in both teaching and research, and who are dedicated to the mission of the Department of Business and Wheeling University. Applicants should have a PhD or DBA in one of the above areas or be expected to complete their degree by July 2025.
Wheeling University is a private Catholic university in Wheeling, West Virginia. It was founded as Wheeling College in 1954 by the Society of Jesus and was a Jesuit institution until 2019. Wheeling University competes in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association as a member of the Mountain East Conference
Responsibilities and Expectations:
The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching a range of courses in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management, and providing support for other Business majors. The successful candidate will also be responsible for advising and mentoring undergraduate students, especially those pursuing careers in accounting and business.
Additional duties include engaging in scholarly activities, contributing to the ongoing development of the business programs, participating in school committees and departmental tasks to ensure ACBSP accreditation compliance, preparing course syllabi and materials, assigning grades, conducting end-of-semester course assessments, maintaining weekly attendance records on Canvas, and holding regular office hours.

- A current curriculum vitae
- A listing of prior courses taught, the dates when the courses were taught, and the locations where they were taught.
- A copy of transcripts from all schools awarding degrees to the applicant (official copies preferred).
- Evidence of a completed terminal academic degree.
- A list of references to include three (3) personal/professional references and contacts at prior places of employment listed on the c.v.
