UC San Diego Health is seeking a Lead Tapestry Application Analyst responsible for developing and implementing and maintain Epic Tapestry functionality for UCSD and its affiliated organizations via Community Connect. The Lead Tapestry Application Analyst will primarily support Vendor Contracts, Copay & Coinsurance configuration, and Benefits Engine build in Epic, but must also have working experience with AP Claims, Accounts Payables, Enrollment, Payer Platform, and Referrals.
The Lead Tapestry Application Analyst will work on a highly cohesive, dynamic, cross-functional, and multi-disciplinary team (including Tapestry, Healthy Planet, Link, and Cogito) with a specific mission to develop the future tools transforming health care delivery, today. The Lead Tapestry Application Analyst reports to the Value Based Care Applications Manager in the Information Services department and closely collaborates with operations management on a daily basis.
Organizational Context
UC San Diego Health's Value Based Care programs aim to advance the Quintuple Aim- the simultaneous improvement of patient outcomes, patient experience, health equity, provider experience, and reduction of cost of care. Insightful and timely analytics directly drives clinical and operational population health efforts to achieve all five outcomes in a program scalable in the community across county lines. Familiarity with health plan delegated risk, full risk, ACO contracts, clinically integrated affiliate networks, and statistical and financial analysis is strongly preferred.
Technical
The Lead Tapestry Application Analyst is responsible for the development of Epic-based workflows in Tapestry, Link, Epic integrated non-Epic applications, and up/downstream applications. Strong candidates are experienced in all phases of application implementation are required including discovery, validation, workflow and process design, application build, application testing, integrated testing, end-user training, go-live, optimization, maintenance, and upgrade. Familiarity with EHR data models and reporting tools like Epic's Radar and Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer are also strongly preferred. Epic application certifications are strongly preferred and required within 4 months of your start date.
Product Management
Following the development of the value based care application strategy, the Lead Tapestry Application Analyst functions as the technical product manager responsible for developing a product roadmap for each of their application areas. Roadmaps will be developed in conjunction with senior leadership, operation stakeholders, and vendor advisors to ensure the designs, specifications, and products can meet current business and clinical requirements and scale across multiple dimensions for future needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSNine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training.
Experience and proven success in information systems implementation, development and support within a large-scale healthcare organization.
Incumbent must obtain certification in primary EMR module(s) within 4 months of initial hire.
Incumbent must maintain current certification for primary EMR module(s) as a condition of employment.
Experience in developing Tapestry and Tapestry related applications for Managed Care (HMO), Medicare Advantage (MA), Managed Services Organizations (MSO), Clinically Integrated Networks (CINs), Population Health Management, and Accountable Care Organizations (ACO).
Certification with modules of Tapestry (Epic), Healthy Planet (Epic), and Link (Epic).
Benefits engine experience.
Knowledge in deploying Population Health Management systems across Epic and non-Epic sites.
Knowledge in Agile development, Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC), Product Development Life Cycles (PDLC), and waterfall implementation methodologies.
Two current Epic application certifications, such as Tapestry, Resolute Billing, Hospital Billing, Healthy Planet, Referrals, Epic Link, and MyChart.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills for a group setting; ability to manage multiple programs independently, setting priorities to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds; demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at all levels in the organization.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $104,900 - $198,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $50.24 - $95.26
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
