Technical Associate I, Nabel Lab

Job Description

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research-Nabel Lab, to contribute to independent research projects that are focused on the regulation of the immune system in cancer under the supervision of doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. Research techniques will include mammalian cell culture; basic molecular biology techniques (PCR and molecular cloning, protein analyses); and sample preparation for mass spectrometry and flow cytometry. Will be responsible for maintaining stocks of reagents and cell lines; ensuring availability of lab supplies; maintaining accurate records; data and analysis including updating and maintaining data in laboratory databases; and mouse handling including breeding, administration of anesthesia, injections, and dissection. This position is ideal for those looking to gain research experience and personal growth before applying to graduate or medical school. 

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in STEM or other relevant degree; two years of lab experience (may include experience gained as an undergraduate); willingness to collaborate as part of a diverse team and actively work to maintain an inclusive and open environment; comfort expressing ideas; robust organizational skills; ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment; and willingness to perform mouse work as noted above. PREFERRED: Basic knowledge of general laboratory practices and procedures; prior mouse handling; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and the desire to assume increasing responsibilities with time.
