Sr. Research Assistant
Job Description
The Wilmer Eye Institute seeks a motivated full-time Senior Research Assistant to join the Coordinating Center for multicenter clinical studies for eye diseases. Under direct supervision of the Coordinating Center Project Director, the Senior Research Assistant (SRA) will oversee requests to the Wilmer Biostatistics Center on a daily basis. The SRA will also provide day-to-day support on research, administrative and technical activities to the team of the Coordinating Center and provide study protocol support to collaborating clinical sites and study units for an NIH sponsored multicenter international clinical trial on inherited retinal degeneration. The SRA will play lead on data collection instrument development and facilitate professional and collaborative communications with clinical sites and other study units. The SRA will be familiar with the study protocol and Coordinating Center responsibilities and workflows and assist in data and information management and administrative activities.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
- Oversee service requests to the Wilmer Biostatistics Center and communicates with requestors
- Maintain an electronic registry of staff names, addresses, telephone numbers, FAX numbers, and e-mail addresses for study personnel at all study units
- Develop data collection forms
- Enter SAE reporting forms received from clinical sites
- E-mail appointment reminders and notices to Study Coordinators each month
- File study-related forms and reports in a secure location
- Query clinical site staff about missing and delinquent forms
- Maintain a history file of all revisions of all forms
- Maintain a current version of the MOP and distribute updates to all relevant study sites
- Maintain a history file of all versions of the MOP
- Print mailing labels for all NAC Attack personnel when requested
- Assist with the preparation and assembly of reports
- Maintain the Coordinating Center Handbook of Policy and Procedures
- Assist Coordinating Center team members as necessary to meet the needs of the Study
- Place orders for materials and track their status
- Develop layout and final copy for special study materials such as newsletters
- Make travel arrangements for Coordinating Center personnel and for members of various NAC Attack committees;
- Schedule meetings for Coordinating Center personnel and for members of various NAC Attack committees;
- Oversee preparation and assembly of Study documents and reports;
- Maintain office supplies for the Coordinating Center;
- Make arrangements for Study meetings, including contacting hotels, reserving rooms, arranging transportations, arranging meeting venues, and authorizing payment of bills after approval of the Coordinating Center Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline. MPH or MS in relevant field preferred.
- Two years of related experience
- Additional graduate level education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula
Preferred Qualifications
- Master degree in Public Health or related area
- Experience of handling research data management

Role/Level/Range: ACRP/03/MB
Starting Salary Range: $41,300 - $72,300 Annually (Commensurate with experience)
