Job Summary

The Operations Manager-Development provides overall maintenance and management of donor gifts and records processes including, but not limited to donor/constituent database and financial records. The Operations Manager-Development supports the fundraising process by ensuring accurate, organized, and actionable donor information through database management, portfolio management, donor research, and reporting and analytics. The Operations Manager-Development is a critical member of the Institutional Advancement team who works under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or 60 college hours or equivalent of education and experience in a support foundation or non-profit fundraising office
  • Three (3) years of experience in a support foundation, not-for-profit fundraising office, accounting, or records management
  • Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic bookkeeping
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • High standard of excellence, accuracy, and consistency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working with Raiser’s Edge

Essential Functions

  • Accurately record all donations—including cash, checks, stock transfers, and non-cash gifts—into Raiser’s Edge, manage batching procedures, and prepare donations for the Midland College Business Office, ensuring data consistency through collaboration with Business Office staff
  • Provide oversight and management of all Midland College Foundation constituent records, applying fundraising and foundation best practices and performing routine audits and global updates to ensure data accuracy
  • Manage and maintain the Raiser’s Edge donor database, inputting new gifts, updating records, and preparing reports on donations and donor information for reconciliation with accounting systems
  • Prepare donor gift acknowledgments, manage pledge tracking, reminders, and follow-ups, and assist with weekly deposits, check requests, and monthly reconciliations, supporting both the Institutional Advancement Office and the Midland College Foundation
  • Prepare complex queries, exports, and reports from Raiser’s Edge to support fundraising activities, including donor retention, solicitation initiatives, and specific reporting requests from the MC President, Foundation staff, and the MC Foundation Board of Directors
  • Create data-informed prospect lists for year-round fundraising and develop analyses to enhance donor relationships and engagement strategies
  • Assist with constituent communications through email and physical mailings, while handling professional interactions with donors, community leaders, Midland College staff, faculty, and students in person, by phone, and via email
  • Work closely with Midland College’s accounting department on donation reconciliation and support the Foundation’s annual audit
  • Continuously optimize data management processes to advance donor engagement strategies and improve methods for fostering relationships throughout the continuum of engagement
  • Must be available for evenings and weekends for special events, meetings, trainings, and conferences
  • Other duties as assigned

Pay Statement

Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
