Our Communications department is seeking a Department Facility Coordinator to support our department facility operations and projects. The communications department are approximately one hundred forty staff who are responsible for visual and communications products that range from classified technical papers to the design of conceptual displays and beyond. It’s a vibrant team of creatives who must be agile and responsive to the many needs of the Lab.
As a Department Facility Coordinator...
- You will be responsible for overseeing building and equipment maintenance for COMM-owned spaces, including scheduling preventative maintenance tasks and reacting to maintenance emergencies.
- You will gather data and the requirements for all the construction/renovation projects that require BCFD support, submit and approve work request tickets, and monitor project status.
- You will work closely with the Finance & Business Operation team and the Multimedia Operation and Production Group to support the roadmap for the renovation of conference rooms and AV updates
- You will work collaboratively with BCFD and the COMM Brand manager to determine strategies to plan and execute the installation of experiential graphics across the enterprise areas
- You will manage capital installation projects and lead BCFD and COMM project execution.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, or architecture, or another related discipline or 3 or more years of relevant experience in the areas of business operations and staff experience
- Have the proven ability to be a self-starter with a high level of initiative and ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Have a demonstrated record of taking initiative and willingness to project a positive work attitude.
- Possess the ability to develop and assess alternative approaches and to solve routine problems in a different, more efficient way.
- Have the capacity to organize and reprioritize work assignments to meet evolving needs.
- Have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Have demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal) and excellent proofreading skills.
- Discretion in handling sensitive personnel and organizational information.
- Are skilled in the use of desktop computer applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Asana, and Slack, Power Bi.
- Are able to obtain a Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development. $52,600 Annually
Maximum Rate
$142,000 Annually
