Job Description

LECTURER, Women’s and Gender Studies Program (WGS), to perform the duties of a full-time lecturer with full benefits. Will teach courses in their specialization as well as WGS core courses such as Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies (WGS.101) and Feminist Thought (WGS.301); build on current curriculum to offer courses relating to gender and labor, global public health, or Indigenous Studies; teach three courses each semester (6 per year); create courses; interact with students; revise and improve curriculum; interact with the program and Registrar’s office, and oversee student thesis projects.

 

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: Masters in a relevant discipline in the Humanities, Social Sciences, or related transdisciplinary fields (completed or expected by August 2025). PREFERRED: Graduate training in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies or strong interdisciplinary background; and a strong research portfolio. Job #24584

Initial review will begin January 7 and continue until the position is filled.

This is a three-year appointment beginning July 1, 2025, with the possibility of long-term renewals and promotion based on favorable performance reviews.
