We are seeking a Financial Analyst

This role is on site in San Diego, CA.

Duties:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to support a position in San Diego CA. ESN supports Naval Warfare Center - Atlantic and Pacific for Interior Communications support efforts. We provide contracts and financial support and analysis for various fiscal efforts throughout the year which includes current and out-year efforts. This support includes maintaining budget spreadsheets, analysis of budget expenditures and estimations of required support funding. Coordinate the financial activities of numerous budget line items on different Navy Maintenance Program accounts. Planning, programming, budgeting, advising and reporting for each program separately and for the government program manager.

Responsibilities: Provide assistance in responding to data calls, submitting recommendations for program reviews, and tracking outstanding actions. Perform analysis on labor expenditures, hours spent performing task work, all travel costs, and all other direct costs Record analysis of data within periodic (monthly) and on demand technical and financial status reports. Support the development of various reports and presentation utilizing Microsoft Office for internal and external customer use. Coordinate meetings and teleconferences, as required. Support for In-Process Reviews with the government when required.

Qualifications/Education:

Must be experienced in supporting NIWC PAC and Navy Projects performing above duties. Must be experienced in the use of MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Must be experienced in communicating orally and verbally. Degree in Management or Finance is preferred, and PMP certification highly desired but not required.

Must be able to develop decision briefings and present to senior government and military personnel. Monitor naval message traffic and draft messages when required.

Six (6) years of direct work experience.

Skills and Abilities:

Must possess experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Must have the ability to create logical financial trends, plans, organizes and coordinates reports with program information from inputs gathered from others. Highly organized and detail oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to use independent judgment in decision making. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Prior experience with the Navy a plus. Knowledge of data bases used by the U.S. Navy and qualified in Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and email systems. Must be able to maintain a Secret clearance.
