Job Description

Position Summary:
Responsible for providing basic to moderately complex technical support for daily financial operations by performing a variety of tasks following policies and procedures. In addition to processing a variety of financial transactions and maintaining records, the position compiles data and generates routine financial reports. May handle cash, manage accounts receivable and/or payable transactions.

Duties may include:

  • Purchase identified goods and services
  • Submit invoices and receipts for payment
  • Accept and recording payments
  • Reconcile purchasing card statements
  • Process travel claims and reimbursements
  • Track transactions through completion in the centralized financial system
  • File and maintain unit-level finance documents
  • Originate personnel actions and processing corrections to pay in the centralized finance system
  • Compile and summarizing data for routine reports
  • Distribute financial reports
  • Research discrepancies
  • Provide assistance to departments on questions related to invoices, receipts, financial reports and other transactions
  • Other duties as assigned




Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year providing financial or business process support within established policies and procedures
  • Using computer software and applications for researching and compiling financial information, preparing summaries and reports
  • A Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance may substitute for the above experience




Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of:

  • Computer software skills including Banner database experience
  • Financial and travel processing experience and/or ability
  • Applying the University of Idaho policies, regulations and administrative procedures
  • University of Idaho policies and procedures
  • Practices, protocols, and equipment used in office support functions


Ability to:

  • Think critically, act independently, solve problems and take initiative appropriately
  • Prioritize and organize multiple duties and responsibilities
  • Accurately process, organize and present data


Experience with:

  • Tribal governments
  • Migrant Seasonal Farm working communities
