The Office of Global Engagement (“NC State Global”) advances the university’s internationalization efforts through the development and ongoing support of strategic partnerships with institutions abroad and through the provision of critical infrastructure, support services and campus programs here in Raleigh. Our office serves as the primary liaison with international offices at partner universities to expand student/scholar mobility, integrate international perspectives into NC State’s academic programs and create new pathways for research, outreach, and professional development.
The Global Programs Coordinator works closely with the NC State Global leadership team to support institutional linkages, coordinate relevant programming and provide timely and efficient service to NC State faculty seeking new/renewed international agreements to support their work. The Program Coordinator will also collaborate on organizing visits for incoming delegations and reporting for partnership-related activities and impact. This position reports to the Global Partnerships Manager.
Essential Job Duties
The Global Programs Coordinator works closely with the NC State Global leadership team to support institutional linkages, coordinate relevant programming and provide timely and efficient service to NC State faculty seeking new/renewed international agreements to support their work. The Program Coordinator will also collaborate on organizing visits for incoming delegations and reporting for partnership-related activities and impact. This position reports to the Global Partnerships Manager.

- International Agreement Processing. In close collaboration with the Global Partnerships Manager and Vice Provost for Global Engagement, the Program Coordinator will assist with the intake and processing of international agreement and MOU proposals. This work includes maintaining the Global Engagement Directory (QS MoveOn), which provides a user-friendly, web-based visual display of international collaborations for NC State Global. The Program Coordinator will assist with data gathering for selected partnerships and/or bilateral student exchanges and maintain institutional contacts and activity reports.
- Delegations and Official Visits. The Program Coordinator will assist the NC State Global leadership team in organizing campus visits for international delegations. This work includes scheduling campus meetings with faculty and research teams, generating letters of invitation, assisting with travel/hosting logistics and preparing briefing notes and presentations for senior administrators.
- Campus Programs. The Program Coordinator will develop and implement workshops, seminars and other activities that strengthen NC State’s global partnerships (on campus and virtual). This work involves building effective working relationships with NC State faculty members, research teams and interdisciplinary academies to raise the visibility of our partnership opportunities and enhance faculty, staff and student participation across campus. Examples include the coordination of Erasmus+ mobility programs, the University Global Partnerships Network annual conference, and the Transatlantic Climate Bridge project.
- Global Student Ambassadors. This Program Coordinator will select and manage a cohort of NC State student volunteers who promote global opportunities across campus and support key events related to global learning and partnerships. Examples include the Global Engagement zone at Packapalooza, student-led campus tours for international visitors, and outreach to globally oriented student organizations.
Other Responsibilities
The Global Programs Coordinator is an active contributor to various initiatives and priorities of NC State Global and carries out other responsibilities as assigned by the Partnerships Manager and Vice Provost. Examples include high profile international events and NC State’s participation in consortia meetings and conferences.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor’s degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.
Other Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in international education, higher education administration or a related field.
- Ability to work as part of a team that values brainstorming and collaboration, as well as capacity to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong organizational skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and in various stages of development. Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
- Experience with varied computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), Gmail, Google Apps or similar programs. Willingness to learn additional software programs as they relate to the work portfolio.
- Willing to work occasional evenings and/or weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as international education, higher education administration, international affairs, international relations, international business, global studies or area studies.
- Experience working across cultures or within an international setting, including an understanding of how to adapt communication styles across different cultural contexts with tact and diplomacy.
- Strong analytical skills with experience collecting, analyzing and disseminating information for a broad range of audiences.

- Valid driver’s license within 60 days of hire.
