Job Summary
Provide safe and effective nursing care as assigned to our congenital and acquired heart disease patients, ranging in age from newborn to adulthood. This position is a float position within the division, providing flexible coverage and assistance with the increasing work of the nurses in the department. This work includes: Pre and post procedural care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and/or electrophysiology procedure, administering medication and providing vital sign and EKG monitoring for imaging studies including echocardiogram studies. Additionally, this position provides up to moderate sedation for pediatric patients undergoing echocardiogram studies. Family centered care is provided in collaboration with all members of the health care team in this highly specialized population. Candidate must be a team player who is highly motivated to provide excellent care in a highly technical environment.

Hourly range for Registered Nurses $40.18-$62.31/ hour
? Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour
? Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour

? Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour
? Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort.
Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Required Qualifications*
Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan
Minimum of two (2) years recent (within the last 18 months) Critical Care RN experience, to include providing moderate sedation, caring for Pediatric patients with Congenital Heart disease or Minimum or (3) years recent (within the last 18 months) Pediatric PACU experience, to include providing moderate sedation.
Demonstrated understanding of common congenital heart defects and indicated surgical correction.
**This position requires standing/walking/positioning/pulling/lifting of patients and objects for long periods of time.

Work Schedule
Hours per week: 40 hours
Shift/ Days/ Hours: Day shift; Shift start/stop times vary from 7:00am- 5:30pm
Location: Pediatric Cardiology Clinic and Procedure Area
All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
