RESEARCH FELLOW

Job Description

Job Summary

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Michigan seeks applicants for our new Collegiate Fellows Program, for recent PhD and PharmD graduates. This new postdoctoral program is one of several efforts by the College to encourage recent graduates, including members of marginalized communities, to pursue careers in academia. COP recognizes that the inclusion of scholars who represent a broad array of life experiences and perspectives enhances the quality of the intellectual environment for all in STEM.

During their appointment, Fellows will work with their advisor and establish an independent research project/program, as well as participate in pedagogical and professional development activities. Fellows will also receive career advising from a departmental mentor during their fellowship, including guidance on grant application submission, including the NIH Student Loan Repayment applications.

Fellows will receive a stipend equivalent to the NIH postdoctoral fellowship scale plus benefits, as well as funds for conference and research expenses, for up to three years. Each fellowship award is for a 12-month period. A renewal of the fellowship for an additional term may be granted upon demonstration of academic productivity and participation in program events. If an awardee has received an offer for a tenure track faculty position at the time of selection or has other postdoctoral fellowship awards, the fellowship may be awarded for one year, without renewal.
