HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Financial Analyst II is integrally involved in financial planning, analysis and forecasting, including supporting strategic initiatives, multi-year planning, and return on investment evaluations. This position reports to the Business Analyst Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Work with business partners across SDZWA to review financial results, including variances and key metrics, to inform forecasting
  • Provide valuable insight with a focus on meaningful and material data points
  • Work closely with business partners in the development of the organization's annual and multi-year plans
  • Administer and maintain financial reporting systems
  • Collect, analyze, interpret and summarize data and trends
  • Perform ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis, as required
  • Perform return-on-investment analysis of organization programs, projects and opportunities
  • Develop recommendations to leaders that support and drive key business, strategic and investment decisions


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Willing to travel 2-3 days each month to San Diego Zoo Safari Park location.


JOB EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of finance-related experience
  • Budget planning and development, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting
  • Analysis of all aspects of organization, including: Revenue, Operating Expense, Labor, Capital Expense, from both a GAAP accounting and cash flow basis
  • Experience developing and utilizing data visualization tools, such as Microsoft BI, strongly preferred

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Statistics or similar field preferred.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Expert in data analysis tools such as MS Excel; proficient in MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • In depth knowledge of financial reporting systems and processes
  • Work within a team, take initiative and show strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage time sensitive projects
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Serve as an insightful analytical resource by developing analysis and tools to support decision making
  • Foster reporting automation and process simplification, where possible, to streamline work and increase capacity
  • Develop business metrics and dashboards
  • Mentor junior analyst colleagues

  • Hourly Range: $37.69 - $41.67
