About the Role:

Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) is offering the opportunity to gain drug development experience in the world of biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Our intern program offers exposure to analytical chemistry and hands-on experience of utilizing various state of the art analytical instrumentation. The Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control (CMC) Analytical Development team has a strong reputation and expertise in the industry for ensuring the safety and efficacy of drug products before bringing them on the market.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Supporting a range of laboratory activities, including operating various analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, dissolution, and KF) and analyzing the associated data

  • Completing an intern project and presenting the project and learnings to senior management upon completion

  • Collaborating with a mentor and other interns within the summer intern cohort

  • Discuss plan(s) and progress(es) with mentor weekly or as needed

  • Interacting with cross functional teams including Chemical Development and Product Development within CMC

Requirements:
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with an interest in biotechnology or analytical chemistry

  • Familiarity or basic understanding of analytical techniques (HPLC, Dissolution, KF, etc.) is desirable

  • Bring a skill set that complements the company's technology and therapeutic development, with a focus on biopharmaceutical technologies, life sciences, product development, and regulatory approval processes is desirable; however, prior experience is not mandatory.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Individual with a passion for learning, innovation, and being a team player.

  • Offer flexibility with a willingness to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Interest in attending various program events, including social gatherings, career development workshops, and more

  • Ability to commit to a 10-week, full-time summer program
